RE: Future Technology (Additional Questions)

EVERYONE W/ A CAMERA: RECord yourself on camera discussing Future Technology. Here are the three specific questions you should answer:

  1. How would you feel about the Self-driving car? Would you feel out of control? Do you think it seems dangerous? Do you think it would reduce the death rate of car accidents?

  2. How do you feel about the idea of Brain Chips? Does it sound fun or scary to you?

  3. How do you feel about medical technology evolving to the point of making immortality a reality? Is the point of life that it’s finite?

A Mother’s Love

theboxsets (Audio Curator) Featured Comment: “guys - its Ashes2Ashes’ mother’s bday in a month from now. Help her take this song to the next level before then! She has included the remix files. You could harmonize or create some background singing lines, add some horn, more guitar, etc…Such hearty art Ashes, thanks for sharing”

* As for the score, we’re still in need of some instruments…Mostly, strings: Violin, viola, cello, and contrabass. We’re trying to build a big, lush sound for this, so check the notes in the collab for details on how we can achieve that. String players! Let’s hear your parts!

* If you can, please play multiple passes of each part. The more the better! We want this to sound like a full string section, so the more layers we can get, the fuller we can make it sound. And, as always, please post your isolated stems. 24/48 wav’s or aiff’s are preferable.

* And of course, all other musicians are welcome to continue contributing to the score!

Proof (Weekly Writing Challenge - Week 2) by Metaphorest
Each day she dies a little death
In some new city
Motel, hotel, suitcase-living
Skyscraper nomad

Every chain the same
Executive desk & bedside lamp
Green-light keycard swipe
And corridor revellers - 3am

The novelty of tiny toiletries
Has long worn thin
The drone of every bathroom fan
A traveller’s tragic overture

Room service over-priced
And unsatisfying
Eaten awkwardly
On a bed for two

Badly dubbed TV shows
The familiar unravelled
Like waking up to parents
With new faces

Midnight, each night
She takes a photo
Of her own reflection
Some scant proof of her existence

But there’s nothing irrefutable
About a digital image
Nothing solid she could stand behind
And state as evidence

A copy of a copy of herself
Untethered, floating
Just a ghost
Bleeding city lights

tori (Text & Video Curator) Featured Comment: "I really love how this is written, Sarah, and it fits Marie Bee’s picture so well - you really captured the feel of the photo. The rhythm of the poem is unusual and fun to read out loud - staccoto-esque in places with the mixing of vowel sounds ("suitcase living / skyscraper nomad" is delightfully tongue-twisting) but the well-placed rhymes and longer lines really keep the reader on their toes. The way that it’s written reflects the mix of frustration, emptiness and repetition within the life of the girl - really well done."
